The Road Less Traveled

It has been eight and a half years since I have written an entry. For some reason, I have continued to pay the annual fee to keep this domain. To keep the dream alive! I updated my maps and found that since my last post in 2013 I have visited 3 additional states and no additional countries.

I could say that the road trip has slowed down, but that wouldn’t be quite true. It just took a different path. In my last post, I had just taken a dream trip with my new boyfriend. That boyfriend became my husband, and on our journey together we had two children, who are now 3 and 7 years old.

I revisited my bucket list from 2013 and am proud to say that I have knocked three items off the list, no longer desire one, and will add many more. In 2013, I ate squeaky cheese at Tillamook Cheese in Tillamook, Oregon. It didn’t really squeak. Last Summer I ate lobster, a lot of lobster, in Maine. And in 2015 I graduated from college with my Bachelor’s degree at the age of 35. At the time, I never imagined making it any further with my education, as that was a goal that took seventeen years. But in 2021, I graduated again with a Master’s Degree at age 41. And for the item that dropped the list, skydiving. I attempted to go when I turned 30, but the weather was too bad. My husband and I have since considered it, but now with two kids, it just isn’t a priority anymore.

Despite the twist and turns, the passion for adventure and travel has not left this Travelerette! There have been many trips with the family since I left you, and I hope to share many of them here. And there will be, for certain, many more!
